Civita di Bagnoregio

Cìvita di Bagnoregio has been dubbed the “Dying City” on account of its precarious geological position: indeed, Civita was abandoned in the Middle Ages as the rocky outcrop on which it is perched gradually crumbled into the valley below. The view of the city from across the causeway is genuinely breathtaking, and the village itself is rightly considered one of Italy’s most beautiful.
