Bolsena Lake

Bolsena Lake

The towns that straddle the edges of Lake Bolsena are Montefiascone, Marta, Capodimonte and Bolsena.

Capodimonte: nice beaches and the possibility of a panoramic tour of the lake.

Bolsena: picturesque town on the edge of the lake, with the basilica of Santa Cristina, a masterpiece of Renaissance art

Marta: tiny fishing village on the banks of the eponymous river

Montefiascone: on a commanding position above the lake, the town is known in particular for its white wine. Worth seeing are the church of San Flaviano, the Rocca dei Papi, and the cathedral.
